The bottom line: This is a great computer for the price and has all of the extras to make it easy to do just about anything with it.

I really like this laptop and since it is my first, feel that I couldn't have chosen a better one. The price was great and since I chose the build your own computer option from the Dell website, I got everything I wanted and still paid only $800. This is so much better than my desk top that is only a year old. The only issue that I have is the battery that I bought is supposed to be mid-range on how long it lasts but it actually only lasts 2 1/2 hours even on the energy saving mode. The good thing is that when not on energy saving mode, it also lasts 2 1/2 hours as well. The built in mouse pad works great and although some reviews that I read talked about how flimsy this laptop is, I don't see that at all. Mine is very sturdy and although it is a bit heavier than a lot of the laptops on the market, I feel that it is also sturdier. The only problem I had was not with the laptop but with buying it from Dell. It is very easy to buy it but since their credit website is so behind the times, not so easy to pay for it. All in all though, I would recommend buying it from Dell so you get exactly what you want. I don't like Windows Vista and was able to get mine with XP instead with no problem, which I really appreciate.
