I own two of these Dell inspirons the first one I purchased for my daughter for christmas 2006,at that time I owned a gateway which was total crap, I paid over 1500. and in less that a year the mother board went and gateway would not stand behind their produce saying that the warranty was over two weeks before I called. I started using my daughter Dell inspiron 1501 and fell in love with the quality and great graphics, fast processor and plenty of memory.I know that this may not make a difference to some, but I like the key response when I type on the key board, smooth key strokes, ect, it is just a pleasure to own this laptop, my daughter computer it came with windows XP. I liked this computer so much that I went out a bought a second inspiron 1501, but mine came with vista, which took a little getting use to.There was some compatibility issues with some of my older software. But it's still a good purchase and price, much less than the expensive gateway that was just junk.If you want a good laptop with good grahpics, built in wireless card, plenty of memory, and fast processor,at a low cost, compared to other products out their costing hundreds more, then this it the laptop for you. Again I like it so much that I bought two. But, what ever you do, stay away from gateway, their products are crap and they don't stand behind their stuff. Dell on the other hand has great customer service and products, at reasonable prices.
