Dead rising is not for the faint of heart or anybody who faints at the sight of blood. Capcom's tribute to the zombie cult stand's alone in the genre and is by far the most violent and bloodthirsty game I have ever come across. Brilliant graphics and all round gameplay make this a brilliant alternative to the first person shooter.

Fan's of George A Romero's work will love the setting and feeling of the game which envokes the atmosphere of the classic movie "Dawn of the dead". Although capcom's stance is that it has nothing to do with the movie, zombies roaming a shopping mall and feasting on survivor's is exactly reminiscent of this classic movie (see also my review of "Dawn of the Dead" the 2004 remake).

The main character in this game is a reporter who finds himself trapped in the mall with the other survivors and must help save them while taking photographs for his story and gathering scoops...as well as devastating the zombie population along the way. A wide variety of weapons help, but the ability to kill fast and frequently are essential.

The game play is really good and the moves are many and various. This game is huge and will take you weeks to complete. Combined with multiple endings it is a game you should never get bored of.

A must buy for zombie lovers!
